Silicone Low Surface Energy Marine Antifouling Coatings
Silicone series antifouling paints have a smooth surface, and it is difficult for marine organisms to attach to them. Even if they are not firmly attached, they can easily fall off under the action of water or other external forces. Li Yongqing et al. described the mechanism of organosilicon low-surface antifouling coatings, discussed the synthesis and application of modified organosilicon coating resins, and introduced new synthesis methods and techniques. Studies have shown that the surface energy of the coating should be less than 12 X 10 N/m in order to effectively prevent the attachment of marine organisms.
